I’m trying to do a double angle differentiation to find the max angle in terms of the distance… But I don’t know how the answers went from one side to the next in the photo…

  • Re-write the “four storey” fraction as two separate fractions

  • Re-write the expression you divide by (1 + 0.42/d^2) as one fraction by bringing both terms to a common denominator (d^2)

  • Divide fractions

  • Simplify resulting fraction
