- I NEED HELP - super quick question on naming

In the exam I always label the molecule as aminoethane, but the answers always say it is ethanamine??? Will I still get it correct because I find the first name so much easier to remember.
thanks

Both these answers should be accepted in a L3 NCEA assessment. The preferred form is the current IUPAC version of ethanamine (which is why that is quoted in the official answers) but the earlier aminoethane option is used so commonly that it is also deemed ok. Another less common alternative name that you might sometimes see is ethylamine but I wouldn’t recommend using that.
